Thousands of students are facing an increase in rent after four Dublin colleges confirm that they are raising their rates this September.

According to the Irish Times Trinity College, UCD, Griffith College and DCU are all hiking up their prices for on-campus accommodation next term.

Trinity College is said to be increasing their rents by about 4 per cent while UCD prices will rise by almost 13 per cent.

The news reportedly comes due to the rising cost of services as well as the overall context of the private rental market.
