With transport connections being shut down, transport connections being shut down from later today and the country staying indoors from 4pm, there is just about enough time to get some last minute supplies in for Storm Emma makes landfall this afternoon.
Supermarkets across the country have been keeping customers updated with their opening hours for today and tomorrow, with many remaining open for another few hours today.
Here’s the full breakdown.
Tesco
All Tesco stores will close today at 2pm, due to the Status Red warning in place across the country. Tesco plans to reopen stores from 1pm tomorrow, Friday, with home deliveries due to commence on Saturday.
However, this is all weather permitting.

SuperValu
SuperValu stores are individually owned so the decision to close will be made by each store.
SuperValu is advising that you call your local store to get up to date opening hours for the coming days.

Dunnes Stores
All Dunnes Stores branches will remain closed today, Thursday. According to the store’s statement, they plan to reopen all stores except Stephen’s Green, Grafton St, Henry St, Ilac, North Earl St and George’s St Grocery, tomorrow, Friday.
Dunnes are advising customers to check for updates on Twitter with regard to tomorrow’s opening hours.

Aldi
All of Aldi’s stores nationwide will close today, Thursday, from 1pm with the aim of reopening tomorrow, Friday, from 5pm.
They are monitoring the situation, however, so tomorrow’s opening hours could change.

Lidl
Following their decision to close all stores in Leinster and Munster from 3pm today, Lidl has decided to shut the remainder of their stores at the same time.
All stores will remain closed from 3pm today until Friday afternoon.
On the back of extended Governent advice to stay indoors, which now applies to the whole of ROI, we will extend the previously communicated closures in Leinster & Munster to the rest of the Republic of Ireland. All stores will now be closed from 3pm today until Friday afternoon.

Convenience store chains
Convenience stores such as Centra and SPAR are individually owned so the decision to close will be made by each store.
Those stores are advising that you call your local shop to get up to date opening hours for the coming days.
