A very swanky New York bar could soon open in the old Clery’s building

They have BIG plans

We’re still not that happy about Clery’s closing down, tbh.

It was like that old friend you’ve had for ages, and even though you didn’t visit all the time, they were always there when you needed them the most.

But alas, out of the blue, the doors were shut and we said goodbye to Clery’s forever.

However, according to the Independent the ‘best bar in the world’ is eyeing up the O’Connell Street location, and seems to be making moves to secure the building.

Yep, New York’s famous Dead Rabbit Bar was founded by two Belfast lads, and it totally took off in NYC because of its mix of an Irish pub, with weird and wonderful interiors… not to mention a lush cocktail menu.

The lads might have some competition though, because Paddy McKillen Jr, of Sophie’s and Workman’s fame is also looking into the building, as well as US Italian chain Eataly and London restaurant, Rhubarb.

OK, the new Clery’s might not be that bad at all.
