Taylor Swift has won her assault case against an ex-DJ who groped her during a concert.

The incident took place in 2013 during a photoshoot, when David Mueller placed his hand under Swift’s skirt and groped her for a period of time.

Swift had stated that it was “a definite grab. A very long grab.”

The singer has been awarded a symbolic $1 in damages.

Following the verdict, Swift said in a statement that she wanted to help other victims of sexual assault.

“My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard.

Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”

She also thanked the jury and her legal team for “fighting for me and anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault.”

Mueller had previously tried to sue Swift himself, claiming that her accusations had led to him losing his job.

That lawsuit was thrown out by Judge William Martinez last week.

The attack took place during Swift’s Red tour.
