It comes after emergency services were alerted to an incident in an apartment building last night.
A man in his late teens was hospitalised with "apparent stab wounds" in Cork on Tuesday (25 January).
Shortly before 9pm, emergency services were alerted to an incident in an apartment building on John Redmond Street.
On arrival at the scene, the man in his late teens was discovered with the injuries.
He was taken from the scene by ambulance to Cork University Hospital for treatment and his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
Gardaí enquires are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
