Teenager charged after man attacked in Dublin this weekend

A teenager has been charged in Dublin after a robbery and assaulted happened in the city centre over the weekend.

Shortly after 1am near St. Stephen’s Green on Saturday, a man was assaulted by the teenager with some personal items stolen.

Left with some minor injuries, the man was taken to St James’ Hospital by ambulance and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí have investigated the incident and officers on patrol arrested the suspect on Fitzwilliam Street later that night.

He was then taken to Pearse Street Garda station and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The stolen items from the man were then recovered and returned to their owner.

The teenager who was arrested has since been charged with the incident and is set to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday morning.
