Teen’s body discovered at Meath residence had fatal gunshot wound

An incident room has been established at Trim Garda Station.

It has been revealed that the body of the man in his late teens found in Meath on Friday morning had a fatal gunshot wound.

Gardaí have said they are continuing to investigate following the discovery of the body at a residence on the Trim Road in Enfield.

In a statement on Saturday, a Garda spokesperson said a senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation.

They also revealed that an incident room has been established at Trim Garda Station.

An earlier statement issued on Friday by Gardaí read: “Gardaí are appealing for any person that was travelling on the Trim Road at Enfield between the hours of 8pm on Thursday, 26 August, 2021, and 7am on Friday, 27 August, 2021, who observed any unusual activity, to make contact with them.

“Gardaí are also appealing to any road users that were travelling in the area during these times and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make this footage available to Gardaí.
