Before then, it is going to get REALLY cold again.
As the last of the current batch of national snow and ice warnings are coming to an end, it looks like spring has finally sprung.
However, while the sun does seem to be that bit brighter and seems to be staying out that bit longer, the last bit of Winter is still hanging about, and this Thursday evening will see temperatures drop to as low as -4 degrees in places.
So yeah, still pretty cold.
Friday will kick off frosty and icy, but then temperatures will begin to pick up drastically, getting as high as 8 degrees that day (break out the suncream!), and then Saturday could get up to 11 degrees.
Sure that’s practically balmy!
However, with the good news must come the bad, and Met Eireann are predicted that this Saturday’s nicer temperatures will bring with it A LOT of rain.
Their forecast for Saturday is as follows:
A wet day with outbreaks of rain extending northwards before easing across southern counties later. Some heavier bursts are likely, with even some sleet for a time across Ulster. Highest temperatures will range 5 to 11 degrees Celsius, north to south. Easterly winds will be moderate to fresh.
Things are set to get a bit milder again come Sunday, but if you are heading outdoors on the Saturday, be sure to bring umbrellas and rain-jackets!
