Weather conditions haven’t always played their part in making staying at home any easier in recent days, but there is good news on that front as the weekend approaches.
While Met Éireann has predicted that temperatures will drop to as low as -3 on a cold night on Thursday and into Friday morning, there is also a forecast for plenty of dry weather over the weekend and early next week.
Both Thursday and Friday will be mostly dry across the country with only scattered showers, particularly over Munster on Friday night.
Northern counties are set to get plenty of sunny spells over the next two days, although temperatures are not likely to reach double figures at any stage, so wrap up accordingly as well as practising the relevant social distancing procedures if you are getting out and about.
Saturday and Sunday are, again, expected to be dry for the most part, but rain in Munster in the morning will spread to Ulster and Connacht as the day goes on, with potentially heavy spells in both provinces on Saturday evening.
That rain is expected to ease come Sunday morning and will likely only affect coastal areas on what is expected to be another dry and cloudy day, with temperatures again dropping close to freezing on Sunday night.
The early indications for early next week are for more of the same, with Met Éireann describing the forthcoming spell as “reasonably settled”.
We’ll take it.
