Bleak.

The chill is real this morning and looks to continue throughout the week.

Yes, the forecast for the next few days is fairly bleak indeed with Met Éireann predicting temperatures are to hit freezing point.

Today, we can expect cold, breezy but dry conditions with thickening cloud starting in the east pushing its way westwards throughout the day.

Heading into the afternoon we can expect isolated showers with temperatures reaching a peak of eight to ten degrees.

Tonight is when it gets chilly with lows of two degrees expected.

As for the rest of the week, well, let’s just say we start as we mean to go on.

Tomorrow we can expect more cold and cloudy conditions with showers spreading westwards throughout the morning.

With temperatures reaching a high of nine degrees, things will be kept cool with fresh, gusty northeast winds.

The rain will start tomorrow night with longer spells of rain continuing over the east coast.

Wednesday is when the real chill kicks in with similar conditions to Tuesday, temperatures will drop further with lows of zero to four degrees.

These conditions are forecast to continue into Thursday and Friday and throughout the weekend with frost, mist and fog all expected.
