Tesco Ireland has issued a recall for their own-brand chocolate cake due to “unsafe” ingredients.

A recent batch of the Finest Chocolate Cake has been recalled because some of the ingredients were not declared on the packaging.

The batch was incorrectly packaged with carrot cake instead of chocolate cake.

The carrot cake contains walnuts which are not declared on the chocolate cake label.

Food Safety Authority Ireland has called the batch “unsafe” for some consumers.

“This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of walnuts,’ they said.

The specific batch of cakes has a best-before date before January 17, 2018.

The batch number is D32/18003.
