There’s going to be a big change in the weather on Tuesday night and we’re not ready

A BIG change in the weather on Tuesday night.

You might have noticed that it’s considerably colder today but be warned, it’s about to get even worse.

According to Met Éireann, temperatures are set to drop considerably tomorrow night and no, we’re not ready for that…at all.

At the moment, it looks as though the south of the country will be most impacted with “a slight frost possible in southern areas.

Lows of zero degrees are expected on Tuesday night and after the mild weather of the past few months, we’re not prepared for such a drastic change.

Alongside the colder weather, there’s considerable rain expected too particularly in Ulster and Leinster on Tuesday night.

This rain will continue in Ulster and Leinster on Wednesday morning but the rest of the country can expect a respite as it’s set to be “largely dry” with even a few bright intervals.

Not so bad.

This weather is expected to continue for most of the week with Thursday set to be a “rather cold” day.

After a few weeks of changeable weather, it looks like we’ll be needing our jackets, scarves and gloves for the next few days, at least.

“At present Thursday looks like a rather cold day with outbreaks of rain, heavy in parts of the south and southwest early in the day, but easing as the day progresses”.

Friday is also likely to be cold but dry (major bonus) and that’s as far as the forecast goes for now. It’s finally time to dig out that hot water bottle…
