Add us as a preferred source on Google »It is anything but a typical Tuesday for one Dublin Lotto player who has claimed a massive €2,935,144 prize fortune.
The jackpot was won in the main Lotto draw on Wednesday, February 12.
The winning ticket was a Quick Pick purchased from Applegreen in Rathcoole on the day of the draw.
Commenting on the huge win, the lucky Dublin winner said: "You always have an image in your head of what you would do if you won – I can safely say that has now gone out of the window."
While they have no immediate plans for the winnings, the winner plans to continue living life normally while treating family and friends.
In more good news, a Cork woman was collected a cheque for €31,678 after matching 5 numbers and the bonus on the main draw on Wednesday, February 5.
Another Quick Pick ticket, the woman made her purchase at Coleman’s Store on Millstreet.
Ecstatic with her winnings, the Cork woman told the National Lottery she is glad to have 'finally made it to Lottery HQ'.
She continued: "As you can imagine, I’ve been keeping a safe eye on my ticket all this time – constantly thinking of all the scenarios as to how it could go missing! I am delighted with today’s win and I’m looking forward to doing some home improvements!"
It's been a lucky week for the rebel county, as a second Cork winner claimed €50,000 in the new Crossword Mystery Multiplier scratch card which launched last month.
She purchased her winning scratch card from Doney’s Spar, Main Street, Castletownroche.
Speaking to the National Lottery on her win, the woman shared that the scratch card has 'travelled all over Mallow'.
"I brought it to my local shop to have it checked – they told me I had won big, and I should contact the National Lottery.
"In total disbelief, I went to another shop – they said the same thing. I then brought it to the post office – and they said the same thing. It then finally sunk in that I had really won big," she said.
