Three Irish Names Have Made The Times Top 150 Young Universities List

Ellen Tannam

The Times run a higher education ranking system that is well-known to be fairly accurate, so anyone who goes to these three universities should feel pretty pleased with themselves.

Spotted over on JOE.ie, Dublin City University, NUI Maynooth and University of Limerick have all been granted a place in the top 150 young universities (that is to say, third level institutions under 50 years old).

Maynooth came 68th, while DCU finished in 79th and UL was grouped generally with 49 other universities between 101 and 150.

The top three institutions were École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
