A three-year-old boy has died in a car crash in County Monaghan, according to reports this evening.
The collision, which involved two cars, happened on the main N2 Dublin to Derry Road at approximately 6.30pm.
A 36-year-old woman, who was driving the car in which the toddler was travelling, is said to be in a critical condition and was air-lifted to Tallaght Hospital.
The two women, who were travelling in the second car, were also taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
