Three-year-old dies after alleged assault at her Dublin home

Terrible news this morning.

A three-year-old girl has passed away after an alleged assault at her Dublin home on Saturday, 10 February.

Emergency services were called to the home in Shankill at around 4:30 on Saturday and the child was taken to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.

The little girl had been in an induced coma but she was taken off life support on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí have said that a woman in her 40s was charged with assault causing harm at a special sitting of Bray District Court on Sunday evening.

The woman was remanded in custody and she is expected to appear in court again tomorrow, Thursday 15 February.
