Toddler dies after being struck by vehicle in Co. Cork

A toddler has passed away after being hit by a car in Skibbereen, in Co. Cork.

According to a report by the Irish Examiner, the incident occurred at around 5pm yesterday afternoon in the driveway of a home near Tralispeen.
The boy was taken to Cork University Hospital, but sadly passed away. He was just 17 months old.
The local fire brigade and Garda units attended the scene to ensure that the ambulance had a clear path to the hospital.
Gardaí are describing the incident as a "very unfortunate tragedy".
