TRAGEDY: One dead, three seriously injured in overnight car accident

A man has been killed and three more people are said to be seriously injured following a car crash last night in Rush, north county Dublin. 

The two-car collision happened at 11.45pm near St Catherine’s Estate on Palmer Road.

According to the Sunday World, the 35-year-old man, who was the sole occupant of his car, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to Connolly Memorial Hospital.

The three people who were travelling in the other car, one woman and two men, are being treated for their injuries at Beaumont and Connolly Memorial Hospital.

Dublin Fire Brigade and emergency units from Swords, Skerries and Finglas attended the scene, which has been closed off pending a technical examination.
