Last Thursday was a sad day on the Deasy farm in Clonakilty, west Cork as Ireland's oldest cow passed away.
The Farmers Journal reports that, Jenny, an Angus cow, was found by Finbarr Deasy on the farm early in the morning.
He explained what happened, "I came out to check the cattle around half eight and saw she was thrown out in the shed with her head out flat and she wouldn't get up. She made an effort to get up but she had a heart attack and passed on."

Jenny was the ripe, old age of 33 when she passed and had becoming somewhat of a local attraction after appearing in The Farmers Journal last year.
The report goes onto say that the Deasy family bought Jenny in the old mart in Skibbereen in 1984 and she had her last calf in February 2013. A great inning by her.
The oldest cow in history is called Big Bertha, she was born in Kerry and lived to the age of 48.
