Another week of rain.
Ireland is set to see a week full of heavy and persistent rain and it’s here to stay until the weekend.
Met Eireann has forecast that temperatures are expected to remain high but downpours are expected to last.
On top of this, the country is on high alert for a tropical storm that could make things worse as the tail end approaches.
A forecaster said: “Still a lot of uncertainty around potential storm Thursday into Friday which includes the remnants of Tropical Storm Alex. Most models keep it out West but could still bring some strong winds Friday.”
Today is set to see sunny spells and some showers, with outbreaks of rain across south Munster by late morning and extending northwards across the country during the afternoon and evening and reaching north by nightfall.
Wednesday is set to also see sunny spells and showers, with the possibility of showers merging to give longer rainfall across the north.
Thursday will see scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle but turning primarily dry with sunny spells by evening time.
Friday will be a breezy day with sunny spells and scattered showers as well as possible downpours.
Saturday is another bright and breezy day with long sunny spells and a few scattered showers.
Sunday is set to see another largely dry day with sunny spells and just a few showers. Each day this week is also set to see temperatures of up to 20 degrees.
