Approximately 20 people have been killed in an attack on a museum in Tunisia today.
A group of attackers targeted the National Bardo Museum in the country's capital of Tunis this afternoon, opening fire on tourists as they arrived at the popular site.
Ten people were then taken hostage but it is understood that they were later killed, with natives of Japan, Italy, Colombia, France, Poland and Spain believed to be among the dead.
Police killed two of the gunmen, who wore military uniforms, at the scene but further accomplices are understood to have been involved.
The attack is considered to be a major blow for the country, which relies heavily on income from tourism.
