Several Fatalities And Scores Injured In German Rail Crash

The incident happened in Bavaria.

Two passenger trains in the German state of Bavaria have collided with police reporting several casualties and many more people injured.

The crash happened at Bad Aibling, a spa town south-east of Munich, the BBC reports.

One of the trains was derailed in the head-on collision and several carriages were overturned. Police and rescue teams are still trying to free people trapped inside wrecked carriages.

The trains collided on a single track shortly before 07.00 local time.

According to German newspaper BILD, there have been over 150 people injured, and at least four fatalities.
