The two youths are due to appear before Dublin Children’s Court on Tuesday.

Two juveniles have been charged in relation to an incident that occurred at Howth Junction DART station on 1 April this year.

The incident resulted in a girl falling onto train tracks underneath a stationary train.

In CCTV footage of the incident on 1 April, the 17-year-old girl can be seen hurrying along the platform when a youth appears to lunge at her, while another appears to thrust the wheel of his bike at her, causing her to fall between the platform and the train.

Following directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Gardaí have charged two male juveniles who were previously arrested in relation to the incident.

Both are due to appear before Dublin Children’s Court on Tuesday morning, 9 November 2021.

Speaking to The Irish Sun after the incident, the girl’s father explained that his daughter had been left shaken by what had happened.

“She’s okay, she is okay now, she is still a bit upset about it,” he said.

“It is an ongoing investigation. At the moment she is fine.”
