Two rushed to hospital after crash in Tipperary

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a car crash in Tipperary on Thursday.

A woman and a man in their 20s were rushed to hospital after being left seriously injured and the woman is being treated at University Hospital Limerick after the one-vehicle collision, while the man was brought to South Tipperary General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred near Fawnagowan on the N24, with the man driving while the woman was a passenger in the car.

Gardaí have confirmed that a technical examination is now underway and diversions are in place.

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single vehicle collision on the N24 near Fawnagowan in Tipperary, yesterday, 11th November 2021.

“The collision occurred shortly after 3pm. The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger, a woman in her 20s, continues to receive treatment for serious injuries at University Hospital Limerick.

“The road will be closed for a period this morning, to allow for a technical examination. Investigations ongoing.”
