Two teenagers hospitalised following attack in Dublin

They boys were taken to the Mater Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Two teenage boys have been taken to hospital following an attack in East Wall last night.

The 16-year-olds were attacked by a group while they were in a chip shop on Church Road at 8:30pm.

Both boys were beaten and kicked, and one of them suffered a superficial knife wound to the chest and the group that attacked them fled the scene on bicycles.

The two teenagers were subsequently taken to the Mater Hospital where they are being treated for non life-threatening injuries.

The scene where the attack occurred has since been closed for forensic examination.

Gardaí are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are attempting to determine whether the group who attacked the teenagers were known to them and if they were targeted directly.

They are also attempting to identify the weapon that was used.

Any witnesses to the attack are being urged to contact Store Street Garda Station. Additionally, those with information on the attack are being advised to come forward.
