A two-year-old Irish boy has died while on holiday in the Maldives.
According to The Sun, he was swimming in the pool on Monday when he got into difficulty and drowned. He was on holidays with his parents at the time.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the incident and is ready to provide consular assistance.
A source said:
"The family are just heartbroken.
It was an accident and he drowned in the pool. They were on holiday at the time.
The family are devastated, totally devastated.”
