The incident occurred this morning.
A Ukrainian airline crashed just after takeoff from Iran killing all 176 people on board.
The Ukraine International Airlines plane was travelling from Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran to Kyiv this morning when it crashed killing all passengers and crew.
The Iranian Red Cross said there was no chance of finding survivors.
BBC News reports that rescue teams have been deployed to the site of the crash just outside the airport.
They told media that it would be "impossible" for any of the 168 passengers and nine crew members to have survived the incident.
Local media IRNA reports that the plane experienced "technical problems" after takeoff when a fire broke out in one of the Boeing 737's engines.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has since offered his "sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of all passengers and crew."
An investigation into the exact cause of the crash is underway.
