The Irish man is facing deportation in Boston after being detained by authorities.
It’s believed up to eight US immigration officials raided the man’s apartment in Quincy last week.
According to the Independent two Irishmen were identified as ‘undocumented’ immigrants and were taken into custody.
One of the men was released pending the outcome of a visa application, the second man believed to be in his late 20’s is still in custody, he is reportedly from the Connemara Gaeltacht area.
A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs would not comment on the case and it’s understood the man and his family in Ireland are receiving assistance from the Irish Consulate in Boston.
