Further demonstrations took place outside Coolock Garda Station in Dublin last night as an anti-water charges protest was held.

The demonstration saw well over 200 people take to the streets, following on from a protest held earlier yesterday in Santry, where Taoiseach Enda Kenny was attending an opening. Three people were arrested at Santry for obstruction. They were later released.

Chanting “From the water to the sea, Irish water shall be free,” the protesters also alleged that the Gardaí had used pepper spray on them during the earlier protest in Santry, but Gardaí have not confirmed this.

The protestors in Coolock blocked off Malahide Road last night and gardaí were forced to divert traffic.

Coolock Garda Station have yet to make an official statement on the incident.
