Fancy owning a bit of literary history? Well, if you have $46,000 just knocking around in your bank account, this may interest you.
The LA Times reports that a ring once owned by Jane Austen will be auctioned off by Sotheby’s later this month. Jane Austen is the author who brought us the ever-fabulous Pride and Prejudice. So basically we have her to thank for Mr D'Arcy.
The ring has remained in the possession of Jane’s family ever since she died in 1817. According to reports, it is expect to sell at auction somewhere in the region of $31,000 to $46,000. It’s a simple gold ring with a natural turquoise ring, so if you like your bling sophisticated and understated, then you’ll love this.
The ring will be going under the hammer at the Sotheby’s English Literature, History, Children’s Books and Illustrations auction.
