Police are treating the fire which broke out at Holy Child Primary School in Derry last night as suspicious.
Derry Now reports that the blaze started at approximately 9pm and when members of the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Crew arrived, the roof of the building was on fire.
The fire was brought under control by midnight and there weren’t any injuries.
District Commander Kevin Lynch spoke to the publication: “When we arrived, building materials on the roof had been set alight”.
“The quick action of the fire service meant we were able to extinguish the fire before it got a chance to get into the structure of the building”.
