Well we all know Greenpeace don’t like Shell Oil, but their new campaign is going after commercial friends of the company.
The activist group have targeted their latest video at Lego, with the camera shots featuring Arctic Lego characters and animals drowning under a sea of oil.
Shot against the Lego film soundtrack “
Everything Is Awesome”, the video shows Shell workers moving in with large drills and oil seeping upwards from the ocean, smothering the Lego village.
The film was shot as part of Greenpeace’s campaign criticising Lego’s longstanding relationship with Shell. The clip also refers to Shell’s plans to drill in the Arctic region, arguing that the toy should end its current partnership with the company.
Greenpeace tagged the video’s description, commenting:
'We love Lego. You love Lego. Everyone loves Lego.
'But when Lego's halo effect is being used to sell propaganda to children, especially by an unethical corporation who are busy destroying the natural world our children will inherit, we have to do something.'
