A UN official broke down on Al Jazeera while discussing the conflict in Gaza. Christopher Gunnes began sobbing while discussing an attack on a Gaza school which the Israelis were informed was a shelter.
According to the Daily Mail, around 20 men, women and children were killed while more than 100 civilians were injured in an attack on Jabalia Elementary Girls School in the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza.
The interview was cut short after Mr. Gunnes began to look visually distressed. He attempted to clear his throat but struggled to compose himself.
As he broke down into sobs, a colleague rushed over to comfort him while the camera panned away from him.
His last words before he began to cry were: "the rights of Palestinians and even their children are denied and it's appalling."
