A status yellow rain weather warning has been issued for two counties.

The warning, which was issued by Met Éireann today and is valid across the weekend, pertains to Kerry and Cork. The warning is valid from 12pm on Saturday to 00:00 on Sunday.

The forecaster said: “A spell of heavy rain on Saturday afternoon and evening may lead to localised flooding.”

Elsewhere across the country, we’re in for a fairly wet weekend with risks of localised flooding throughout the bank holiday weekend.

Heavy showers, mild temperatures, and the risk of localised flooding have been forecasted. We can forget about the hope of one final sunny bank holiday weekend before winter really kicks in.

Temperatures will be between 12 and 15 degrees this weekend.

Scattered showers are forecasted for Friday, October 22nd. The weather will take a turn on Saturday with heavy rain in the west of the country. The rest of the country will experience showers and gusty southerly winds.

Heavier rainfall is expected later in the evenings. Sunday will be slightly better with some sunny spells. The north and west will experience heavy showers.

Temperatures will drop to between 5 and 9 degrees on Sunday night.

Things will improve on Monday with some sunny showers forecast, but the rain will make an unwelcome return nationwide in the night.
