Whirlpool issue urgent recall of tumble dryers due to risk of fire

Whirlpool have issued an urgent recall of certain models of their tumble dryers due to risk of fire.

The recall was issued today and includes dryers that were manufactured before September 2015 that have not been modified.

Machines from brands Indesit, Hotpoint, Creda, Swan and Proline are included in the recall.

Consumers are advised to unplug and stop using their dyer immediately if it is an affected model. Either a replacement dyer or repair options are available.

Whirlpool is offering affected consumers either a free replacement dryer, a free in-home dryer modification, a discounted upgrade, or an age-based refund.

Free-of-charge collection and disposal of an old dryer will also be offered to those availing of a replacement or upgrade.

Consumers affected by the recall should call 1800 804 320, or check their dryer’s safety on www.indesithotpointsafety.com.
