A statement was issued yesterday on Twitter.

Dublin Zoo’s nighttime spectacular, Wild Lights, will not go ahead tonight due to potential bad weather conditions.

The Zoo issued a statement on Twitter which informed ticket holders that tonight’s event is cancelled “following a consultation with Met Eireann.”

They said the decision was made because of health and safety reasons.

Wild Lights ticket holders have been sent an email will all the details and can expect a full refund.

The Zoo has said that alternative dates are still available, should people wish to reschedule.

This year’s theme is Ocean of Light which has been a huge hit with attendees so far. The exhibition features giant squid to hammerhead sharks, colossal blue whales and dainty seahorses, all made out of illuminated lanterns.

Wild Lights 2018 opened to the public on Thursday, November 1 from 5pm until 9pm. The nighttime exhibition will end on January 6.
