The National Lottery has revealed that the winning ticket from Tuesday night’s EuroMillions draw worth a cool €49,564,587 was sold in Leinster.

The winning ticket was sold online and The National Lottery is now encouraging players to check their online accounts and emails today.

The winning ticket was a €2.50 Normal Play selection, meaning that the lucky player selected their own winning numbers to scoop the prize.

The winning numbers were 14, 15, 24, 29, 42 and the Lucky Stars were 02, 04.

“This lucky ticketholder in Leinster has woken up this morning to an email to confirm that they are the lucky winner of last night’s €49.5 million EuroMillions jackpot,” a National Lottery spokesperson said.

“We are still waiting to hear from this winner so we are encouraging all of our online users in Leinster to check their accounts and emails and if they are the winner, to get in touch so we can officially begin the prize claims process.

“€49.5 million really is a life changing sum of money so we will be carefully guiding this winner through this prize claims process over the course of the coming weeks to ensure that they are fully prepared when claiming this massive prize.”

The National Lottery said it should be in a position to pay out the funds from next week as it has already began the process of gathering the jackpot funds from the nine other participating lotteries in the EuroMillions community.

It is the second time the EuroMillions jackpot has been won in Ireland this year and is the 16th time the jackpot has been won in Ireland since the game began back in 2004.
