Woman in her 20s dies after camogie accident

RIP.

A woman in her 20s has died after a tragic accident occurred when she was playing a club camogie match in Galway on Easter Monday.

She was rushed to University Hospital Galway from the GAA ground but sadly passed away from her injuries on Tuesday.

The woman represented Galway Camogie at an underage level and was playing in a senior club game.

Gardaí confirmed to Independent.ie that they were “called to an incident on Monday, April 18” to the GAA ground when a “woman was later taken to University Hospital Galway.”

They also reported that she passed due to her injuries this morning, with those who knew her saying her hometown “is in shock” after the “tragic accident.”
