A woman was knocked down and killed during a collision involving a Luas and a car.
The pedestrian, who was in her 30s, was struck by a car at the junction of Jervis and Abbey Street Upper this morning at 8.45am, a Garda spokesman said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí are investigating the incident which took place near the Jervis Shopping Centre and forensic collision specialists are due to carry out an examination of the scene.
The road has been closed and the Luas red line is currently not operating between Smithfield and Connolly/the Point, however they are running between Saggart and Smithfield.
Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus.
