A woman in the UK found out about her partner's death after his employer left her a voicemail message.
Kim Tribe arrived home from Christmas shopping to find a message from her boyfriend Richard's employment agency, asking her if they could be of any assistance following his death in a tragic workplace accident.
Richard Brown suffered fatal injuries when a stack of pallets fell on top of him in Cumbria, as he unloaded kitchen work-tops at a depot. However, the 44-year-old had not been informed of the news when she received the message and admits that it was a major shock.
"No one had told me about the accident. I rang Richard's mobile. It just rang out. I rang the agency back and they came straight round. They were mortified. They honestly thought I'd been told. It has destroyed us. I'm still numb and in shock."
