
Woman hospitalised in hit and run incident in Dublin
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
A woman was rushed to hospital on Monday evening following a hit and run in Dublin.
The incident took place at approximately 7.40pm on the Ballymun Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.
She is being treated for her injuries in hospital. Gardaí closed the road for examination on Monday night and it has since been reopened.
Gardai are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
A spokesperson from An Garda Siochana said: "Gardai are investigating a road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 7:40pm on the Ballymun Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9, on Monday, January 31, 2022.
"A female pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries. The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.
"The road has since reopened following a technical examination. Investigations are ongoing.
"Gardai at Ballymun are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Ballymun Road area at this time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai."
