Woman left seriously injured after horror M7 crash

A woman has been left with serious injuries after she was involved in a crash on the M7 on Monday involving multiple cars.

Gardaí and emergency services were rushed to the scene at around 1.20pm when the collision occurred on the M7 near Ballywilliam in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

The crash involved a number of cars as well as a truck.

A Garda spokesperson revealed to the Irish Mirror that the female driver of one of the cars involved was taken to University Hospital Limerick.

The woman is believed to be in a serious condition with two other women involved in the crash receiving medical treatment.

In a statement, officers said: “Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of a number of collisions on the M7, today, Monday, December 6, 2021.

“At approximately 1.20pm, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the M7 near Ballywilliam in Nenagh, Co Tipperary. The collision involved a number of cars and a truck.

“The driver of one of the cars (female) has since been taken to University Hospital Limerick where she is receiving treatment for serious injuries. Two other women are also receiving treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“No other serious injuries have been reported at this time.”

The M7 remained closed yesterday evening between Junction 26 at Nenagh and Junction 27 at Birdhill, with local diversions in place as a technical exam was carried out at the scene.
