A woman’s body has been found on a Co. Wexford beach.
Gardaí on Wednesday launched an investigation following the discovery of the body near Sally’s Lane on Kilgorman Beach, Wexford.
Emergency services and Gardaí attended the scene just after midday following alerts that a woman had entered the water near the area. Her body was recovered some hours later.
In a statement as reported by the Irish Mirror, Gardaí said that they are investigating “all circumstances” surrounding the recovery, and that a postmortem being carried out in University Hospital Waterford will direct their investigation.
They said: “Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a woman in the Sally’s Lane area of Kilgorman Beach, Co. Wexford, this afternoon, Wednesday 23th February 2022.
“The body of the deceased has been removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem will take place.
“The results of the post mortem will direct the further course of this investigation.”
