Woman (40s) found dead at apartment in Dublin 15

A woman in her 40s was found unresponsive in Dublin 15 this morning.

Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in Dublin 15.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was found dead at a property in Royal Canal Park, Ashtown.

No arrests have been made at this time, but an adult male who was assisting An Garda Síochána with their enquires is now receiving medical treatment.

It is believed he knew the deceased.

The woman’s body was found this morning, Friday, January 13th.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the incident at around 10 am this morning.

Gardaí found the woman unresponsive upon entering the apartment.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene has now been preserved to allow for a forensic and technical examination.

Gardaí also stated that the woman’s body remains at the scene in Dublin 15.

Her identity has not yet been confirmed.

Gardaí have also not confirmed her cause of death, but reports claim she died violently.

The Office of the State Pathologist was notified following the woman’s death.

A post-mortem examination will also be conducted at the Dublin City Mortuary.
