The spokesperson said: “A sharp frost will affect mainly the east and north with lowest temperatures falling to around minus one or minus two degrees and from zero to two degrees elsewhere. Later cloud will increase from the southwest with showery rain pushing into southwestern and western areas turning to sleet on higher ground.” The whole Easter weekend has been described as "unsettled" with varying winds and showers throughout both Saturday and Sunday. The spokesperson revealed: “Easterly winds will continue and bring some showers to eastern and northeastern areas on Saturday and easterly winds may increase fresh on Sunday with some showery rain affecting the south and east. So if you have any plans for the weekend, it looks like a pair of wellies and a brolly should be a high priority... fantastic.Mostly cloudy early this morning with heavy showers in many areas. Sunshine and showers through today, some of them wintry on high ground. They’ll be heaviest and most frequent in the west.
