This will have you golfing like a pro by summer time…

Now that the long evenings are making a comeback, it might be time to pick up a new hobby that will help you make the most of the summer months.

Golfing is the perfect way to get outdoors and enjoy the good weather this summer but, if you’ve never picked up a golf club before, you might be a bit unsure about how to get started or if it’s right for you.

That’s where Golf Ireland’s Get Into Golf Programme comes in, an introductory course for beginners looking to try out the sport. The eight week course gives women an affordable, learner-friendly environment to learn the basics of golf, without any pressure.

So, what can you expect? The first 4 weeks of the Get Into Golf Programme are an introduction to the game off-course with a PGA Coach.

Following that, participants will spend the next few weeks playing a shortened version of the game on course, alongside current members of the club.

There are so many golf clubs around the country that run the Get Into Golf Programme, so there’s sure to be one near you that you can get involved with. You can find a full list of participating clubs here.

The programme usually kicks off in March or April, with one session per week. The cost of the eight-week programme ranges from €50 to €100 depending on what part of the country you’re in, making it a super cost effective way for beginners to try out the sport.

Most clubs running the Get Into Golf Programme will also offer an introductory membership ranging from €150-300, making it super easy to sign up for your local club.

This membership will likely have certain restrictions, but it should cover everything you’ll need as a beginner and give you a taste of what a Golf Club membership includes.

And if you want a sneak peek at what’s involved, we’ve teamed up with fitness and lifestyle influencer Belle Azzure, who’ll be taking part in the Get Into Golf Programme over the next 8 weeks.

She’ll be taking on the Get Into Golf Programme and sharing some top tips for anyone looking to get involved with the sport, so be sure to keep an eye on our socials to stay up to date with her journey.
