“If you can stand up and move your legs… you’re welcome”.

The San Diego Senior Women’s Basketball Association is for female basketball players over the age of 50. Within the league, there’s one team in particular that stands out.

The San Diego Splash are the oldest team in the league (players must be at least 80 years old to join). They have two players, Meg Skinner and Grace Larson, who are both 91 years of age… and one of them is their top scorer!

Speaking to ESPNW, Larson explained the thrill she gets from playing basketball, and how the opportunities weren’t there for women to play sports when they were growing up:

“I was 78 when I got my first basketball shoes, so that was a thrill, growing up, we didn’t have sports like the girls do today. We didn’t have the opportunity to play.”

A video posted to Facebook dedicated to the ‘Splash Sisters’ has now been viewed over 9 million times, their dedication and commitment to each other, as well as the team, makes it easy to see why they’re so popular.

Check out the video below for some serious Monday motivation that proves it’s never too late to start moving!
