Britain’s finest television folk turned up for the bash of the year last night as the 2012 Inside Soap Awards kicked off.

And it was Eastenders that swept the board with a total of seven awards, including Best Soap. Not bad for the Albert Square crew.

The coveted Best Actress prize went to Gillian Wright who plays Jean Slater and the Best Newcomer was handed to Hetti Bywater for her portrayal of Lucy Beale.

Funniest female went to Tameka Empson for her role as Kim Fox for the second year running, while Ricky Norwood was crowned Funniest Male for his portrayal of Arthur 'Fat Boy' Chubb.

Charlie Brooks, who plays the conniving Janine Butcher, bagged herself the Best Bitch award and the newcomer David Witts won Sexiest Male.

Eastenders' newcomer David Witts scooped up the Sexiest Male award.

The others weren’t left completely award-less though. Michelle Keegan took home Sexiest Female for the fourth year running, go Michelle. She also won Best-Dressed Soap Star.

Looks like it was the Queen Vic where the celebatory drinks were last night though…
