After eighteen months of rumour and speculation, yesterday it was confirmed that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is expecting her first child. We knew there was something suspicious about her new haircut!
Anyway, it seems like there could be more surprises on the royal baby front as now there are whispers floating around the place stating that Kate is pregnant with twins!
According to reports this morning, rumours of twins are rife after it came to light that the Duchess had been hospitalised with a condition that is often associated with multiple births.
Kate and William were forced to announce their good news yesterday after Kate was admitted to hospital suffering from a severe form of morning sickness. The Duchess became ill while she was visiting her parents, and she was promptly admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London where she will most likely remain for a few days.
Apparently Kate is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition that is usually experienced by women who are expecting twins. It is being reported that expecting mothers who suffer from the condition are three times more likely to have a multiple birth than other mothers-to-be.

Kate’s admission to hospital prompted a scramble to inform members of the royal family about the pregnancy before news of her arrival at the hospital leaked out. According to a royal aide, the decision to go public with the news was “very much driven by William and Kate.”
“It’s a very hard thing to go public at such an early stage, but they wanted to be open with people as much as possible,” said the aide.
The Duchess found out last month that she was expecting and has not yet reached the 12-week stage of her pregnancy.
