If you didn’t happen to see or hear the commentary on RTÉ Two in the aftermath of yesterday's All-Ireland quarter final between Tyrone and Monaghan, then you were obviously getting the bank-holiday festivities underway early.
Monaghan, who were crowned Ulster Champions for the first time in 25 years just two short weeks ago, were defeated by the province’s front-runners for the last decade, Tyrone, in a controversial All-Ireland quarter-final.
70 great minutes were played in total but it was the events that took place on the 49th that got RTÉ pundit Joe Brolly’s back up. (This happens from time-to-time).
Mickey Harte’s men progressed to the semi-finals after a two-point victory but Brolly said the manager had nothing to celebrate.

Man-of-the-match Sean Cavangh. Brolly wouldn't have a drink with him...
In a spectacular tirade, probably one of his best to date, the Derry man called his County neighbours “absolutely rotten,” singling out man-of-the-match Sean Cavanagh in his scathing rant, and how his “rugby” tackle on Monaghan’s Conor Mc Manus was a “complete disgrace.”
To be quite honest, he wanted nothing to do with the match that finshed up, Tyrone 0-14 to 0-12 Monaghan.
Our favourite line… “Tell your children to play tennis. It’s Outrageous.”

Colm O' Rourke laughs it off, but Pat Spillane fears for his life...
And they say women are the dramatic ones...
